Today is my 37th birthday. It is also a sort of "re-birth" as today was the first day of my pre-op liquid diet that I will be on for 14 days leading to my surgery.
To mark this date appropriately, Rich helped me take my measurements again. Interestingly enough, I gained in some areas, stayed the same in others. I cannot believe my calves are 20" now. I need to lose at least 6 inches to be able to get some hot boots. I digress!

Stomach 42.25" (-.75" - gotta be wrong the first time around)

Since I started my liquid today, it was only natural to do one last "weigh-in"... it was...
Ugh. Well, at least it wasn't 250, although it would make the math easier once I start losing. I am betting I will be in the high 230s before surgery after this 14 day liquid diet! I only took in 530 calories today but I got 80+ grams of protein.
For breakfast at 6:30 AM, I had a chocolate truffle shake from Syntax Nectar. Before I verified I couldn't have any sugar free pudding mix, I added it to my breakfast shake along with a 1 cup of skim milk, and a tablespoon of Torani sugar free chocolate syrup. I got to use my new Ninja to blend my shake and boy was it FAST! I love my new Ninja! The shake was delicious, too.
Four hours later I was getting some rumblings in the tummy, so I made some peppermint herbal tea. That was delicious and it subsided my hunger until around 12:30 when I went to make my 2nd shake for the day. I tried a new flavor:
It was pretty good and hit the spot. I drank tons of water throughout the day and also had a powerade zero, too.
For dinner around 5:30, I had UNJURY's Chicken Soup flavor. It was delicious!!! Definitely a nice change to the sweet shakes I had today. I would even have it for breakfast!
For dessert I had a snack cup of sugar free cherry Jell-O gelatin.
So Day 1 wasn't so bad. I am going to try different Torani flavors tomorrow to jazz some things up!

That Tropical Dreamscicle shake sounds yummy. I might have to try it :)
